Rita-Marie Lawlor is a photographer and filmmaker from Dublin, Ireland.

She has just completed writing, directing, acting in and producing an independent 40 minute music based TV pilot - Apollo Music Club - in which she has written a further five episodes.

She began her studies within the media in 1996 when she was awarded distinctions in music theory from Victoria college of music, London. She later received various certificates in performing arts between '96 -'98 - for dramatic performances which were performed in both Dublin and London. She later wrote plays for radio and for a brief time went on to teach drama to children and adults after she was awarded a guildhall diploma in theatre studies.

While working on many films sets in between, whether it be acting/extra/ or stills photographer, she went on to study photography and film production full time for three years, and graduated in 2004 with a B TEC HND in Film production, she also holds distinctions in photography and was awarded certificates from the Royal Photographic Society, London.
She has written and directed various shorts and was awarded best film for "Innocence" in which she co-directed and produced, it was screened in the Irish Film Institute, Dublin - and will also be screened on Propeller TV on Sky Digital. She also holds a certificate in psychology/criminology and hopes to study forensic psychology in the future. She also practices Hatha Yoga and holds a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do, after three years training the Korean martial art.Rita-Marie has just completed filming a 40 minute music based TV pilot - "Apollo Music Club" in which she wrote, directed, acted in and produced. Set in Ballymun, Dublin, the story focuses on five twenty-something's whose mundane lives are changed when they meet up on a part time music course. It was widely appreciated at the screening on May 24th 2006. She has written a further five follow up episodes and has just begun writing the second series, she hopes to work alongside a production company to make the entire series, while also depending on funding from the Arts Council and Bord Scannán na hÉireann.
